Warranty Policy
What's covered, what isn't, and how to submit a claim on manufacturer-warrantied parts.

Manufacturer Warranty
Most parts sold by Restart carry the original manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, applicable from the date of delivery. The specific warranty period and terms vary by manufacturer and part, and are stated on the product page or invoice where available.
Electrical and electronic parts are sold without a manufacturer warranty. This includes sensors, control modules, wiring components, switches and lighting electronics. These items remain covered under your statutory rights regarding defective goods under the Consumer Protection Act, and by our Returns & Refund Policy where a fault is present on arrival.
Installation Requirements
For any warranty to remain valid, the part must be installed by a qualified, professional technician using correct tools, procedures and torque specifications for your vehicle. We recommend retaining your invoice and a copy of the installation invoice from your technician, as both may be requested to process a warranty claim.
Exclusions
The following are not covered under warranty:
- Incorrect installation — parts not fitted by a qualified technician, or fitted without following correct procedure
- Damage or abuse — physical damage, accident damage, misuse, or use of the part outside its intended application
- Normal wear and tear — gradual deterioration expected through ordinary use over time
- Damage caused by other faulty components, fluids, contamination or an unrelated vehicle fault that the part was not responsible for
- Electrical and electronic parts, which carry no manufacturer warranty (see above)
- Parts that have been modified, tampered with, or used for track/competition use where not designed for it
Warranty Claim Procedure
- Contact us at sales@restartauto.co.za or 072 513 7363 with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or video where possible.
- Provide proof of purchase (invoice) and, where installation is relevant, your technician's installation invoice.
- We will assess the claim, which may involve the part being returned to us or, where applicable, submitted to the manufacturer or supplier for inspection.
- Where a claim is approved, we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund in line with the manufacturer's warranty terms.
