Terms & Conditions
The rules that govern your use of restart.co.za and every order you place with us — please read them alongside our Returns, Warranty and Privacy policies.
Last updated: 18 July 2026
Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of restart.co.za (the "Website") and any order you place with Restart (Reg No. 2025/700827/07), a South African business trading from 7 Voortrekker Road, Boston, Bellville, 7530 ("Restart", "we", "us", "our"). Restart supplies OEM and aftermarket parts for premium and performance vehicles to customers within South Africa.
These Terms are drafted to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act"), and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
Acceptance of Terms
By browsing the Website, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Returns & Refund Policy and our Warranty Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website or place an order.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or placing an order under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in South Africa. By placing an order you confirm that the details you provide are accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method selected.
Our Products
Restart sells both Original Equipment Manufacturer ("OEM") and quality aftermarket automotive parts. Unless a listing explicitly states otherwise, we describe each product's condition (new, reconditioned, or used) and manufacturer on its product page — please check this before ordering.
Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, specifications, part numbers, brand information and images on the Website are accurate and current. However, parts suppliers occasionally revise specifications without notice, and product photography is representative and may differ slightly from the item actually supplied (packaging, minor cosmetic finish, or accessory bundling). Where a discrepancy materially affects fitment or function, contact us before installing the part — see our Website Disclaimer.
Pricing & Currency
All prices displayed on the Website are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are valid only for orders placed through the Website at the time of viewing.
Restart is not currently a registered VAT vendor with SARS. No VAT is charged on orders, and this is reflected on your invoice.
Pricing Errors
Despite our best efforts, a small number of products may be mispriced due to supplier data errors, currency fluctuations on imported parts, or system faults. If we discover a pricing error on an order you have placed, we will contact you before dispatch to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price, amend the order, or cancel it for a full refund. We are not obliged to honour an incorrectly listed price, in line with section 41 of the CPA.
Placing an Order
Order Acceptance
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. No contract exists between you and Restart until we accept your order, which we do by confirming dispatch (or confirming a collection is ready) via email, SMS or WhatsApp. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order — including where a pricing error has occurred, a product is out of stock, we suspect fraud, or delivery restrictions apply — in which case any payment already made will be refunded in full.
Stock Availability
We aim to keep stock levels accurate in real time, but because some parts are sourced from external suppliers on demand, availability is not always guaranteed at the moment of order. If an item you have already paid for becomes unavailable, we will notify you and issue a full refund for that item, or offer a substitute part of equal or greater value if one is available and you agree to it.
Order Cancellation
You may request to cancel a standard-stock order at any time before it has been dispatched by contacting us on 072 513 7363 or sales@restartauto.co.za. Once an order has been dispatched, it is treated as a return and our Returns & Refund Policy applies instead.
Special-Order & Imported Parts
Restart can source or import parts on request that are not held in regular stock ("Special Orders"). Special Orders require a non-refundable deposit before we place the order with our supplier. You may cancel a Special Order after confirmation, but because we have already committed funds to our supplier on your behalf, the deposit paid is not refundable. We will confirm the deposit amount, estimated lead time and total price with you in writing (email or WhatsApp) before taking payment.
Payment Methods
We currently accept payment by PayFast (once activated on the Website) and by direct EFT to our business bank account. Full details of both methods, along with our fraud-prevention and payment confirmation process, are set out in our Payment Policy.
PayFast Payments
Card, Instant EFT and other PayFast-supported payment methods are processed securely by PayFast (Pty) Ltd, a registered South African payment service provider. Restart never sees or stores your full card details — these are captured directly by PayFast's PCI-DSS-compliant payment page.
EFT Payments
For manual EFT payments, orders are only processed once payment reflects in our bank account, and proof of payment should be sent to sales@restartauto.co.za to speed up dispatch.
Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to verify the identity of any customer, request supporting documentation, and delay or decline an order where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity, a stolen payment instrument, or a mismatch between billing and delivery details. This protects both our customers and our business against payment fraud.
Shipping & Delivery
Restart currently ships to addresses within South Africa only. Orders placed before our courier's daily cut-off are typically dispatched within one business day; delivery via courier generally takes a further 1–3 business days depending on your location. Full detail on processing times, delays, tracking and lost or damaged parcels is set out in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Delays
Dispatch and delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees. Restart is not liable for delays caused by our courier partners, incorrect address details supplied by you, customs or supplier delays on Special Orders, or events outside our reasonable control (load-shedding, weather, strike action, or other force majeure events).
Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
You may request to return an eligible part within 7 days of delivery. Electrical and electronic components and Special-Order/imported parts are not eligible for return. Where you ordered the wrong part, a return is possible but you are liable for the courier fees. Approved returns are refunded — Restart does not currently offer exchanges or store credit. The complete eligibility criteria, process and timelines are set out in our Returns & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Warranty
Certain parts carry a manufacturer warranty; electrical and electronic parts are sold without a manufacturer warranty. Where a warranty applies, professional installation by a qualified technician is required for it to remain valid. Full terms, exclusions and the claims procedure are set out in our Warranty Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Product Compatibility & Vehicle Fitment
It is your responsibility as the customer to confirm that a part you are ordering is correct for your specific vehicle — including its make, model, year, engine and trim variant — before placing your order. Vehicle listings and part descriptions on the Website are a guide to assist your selection and do not replace your own verification.
VIN Requirements
We do not require a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) as a standard part of checkout. If you are unsure whether a part fits your vehicle, we strongly recommend you contact us by email or WhatsApp with your VIN before ordering, so our team can help confirm compatibility. We do not verify fitment against your vehicle before dispatch unless you have specifically requested this.
Full detail on VIN verification, compatibility checks and your responsibilities is set out in our dedicated Fitment Disclaimer.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Website — including the Restart name and logo, text, graphics, product photography, layout and underlying software — is owned by or licensed to Restart and is protected by South African copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise exploit this content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Manufacturer and brand names, logos and part numbers referenced on the Website remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Restart's total liability to you arising out of your use of the Website or any order, whether in contract, delict, or otherwise, is limited to the value of the order giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the CPA, including liability for harm caused by defective goods under section 61.
Restart is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of use of a vehicle, or towing and workshop labour costs arising from an incorrectly fitted or incompatible part, except where such loss arises directly from our negligence.
Third-Party Links
The Website may link to third-party sites (such as PayFast, courier tracking pages, or WhatsApp). We are not responsible for the content, security or privacy practices of third-party websites and encourage you to review their own terms and policies.
Website Availability
We aim to keep the Website available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, security, or reasons beyond our control, without liability for any resulting inconvenience or loss.
See also our full Website Disclaimer for further detail on technical errors, pricing errors and availability.
User Accounts
If you create a Restart customer account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at sales@restartauto.co.za if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, without prejudice to any right you have to approach the National Consumer Commission or another applicable regulator under the CPA.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, legislation, or industry practice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this version came into effect. Continued use of the Website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes affecting an order already placed will not apply retroactively to that order.
